Medicare Annual Enrollment
Medicare’s Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) begins October 15th and runs through December 7th. This is your time to review your Medicare coverage. There will be many changes coming for year 2025. Our job is to note changes concerning plans and assist you in making the best decision for your coverage.
What happens during Medicare Annual Enrollment?
This is your time to review your Medicare coverage and decide if you would like to make a change for the upcoming year. It is important to review your plan annually to see what changes are approaching. The changes you make during AEP will go into effect on January 1st and run through the year. If you find a better coverage option(s) for the new year, you can make the following changes during the Annual Enrollment Period:
- Switch from Original Medicare(Medicare Part A and Part B) to Medicare Advantage (Medicare Part C)
- Switch from Medicare Advantage back to Original Medicare
- Switch from one Medicare Advantage plan to another Medicare Advantage plan
- Change your Medicare Prescription Drug plan (Part D) to a different Medicare Prescription Drug Plan (Part D)
What can you do leading up to October 15?
You will receive an Annual Notice of Change (ANOC) letter from your current plan during the month of September. This is for your Prescription Plan (Medicare Part D) or your Medicare Advantage Plan (Medicare Part C). The letter will inform you about changes to your current plan. Changes such as monthly premiums, benefits, and coverage.
We always recommend looking at your coverage options and comparing them to your current plan. Your monthly premium is important, but also review the overall costs of your options. Our role is assist and guide you with all the changes and help you make the best decision for your coverage.
Medicare Supplements (Medigap Plans)
You will NOT receive a ANOC letter from your Medicare supplemental policy. Medicare supplemental coverage does not change from year to year. Medicare supplemental plans can be reviewed throughout the year. You will only receive a letter from Medicare Part D plans and Medicare Advantage Plans (Medicare Part C) concerning coverage changes.
