Medicare Supplement Plan N is a great plan and is perfect if you are looking for a lower premium. In exchange for lower premiums,  you will be responsibility for a small annual deductible and possibly some copays.

Selecting this option to supplement your Original Medicare would require you to pay four areas.

  1. The Part B Deductible – You are required to pay this deductible. Currently the deductible is $226 for 2023.
  2. Doctors Visits – The copay can be no more than $20 for a visit to a primary care physician or specialist.
  3. Emergency Room – The copay for an ER visit is $50. The $50 is waived if you are admitted to the hospital.
  4. Part B Excess Charges – Doctors can charge an additional 15% above what Medicare approves. One way to avoid the excess charges is to use doctors that accept Medicare assignment.
